When we last visited the world of ForchMan, we explored the Origin of our hero. This installment, we are going to explore the Origin of our villain.
General Harland Sanders Mills, Jr. was born into a military family. His father being a WWII Army Staff Sergeant. His mother as well being a military nurse. Mills was raised with his three older brothers in a strict setting. His father rarely showing any emotion, because he was a tough as nails man.
Harland was very close to his mother, more so than his brothers, and his father mistook that for being soft. His father became increasingly verbal to his son, and in turn, his mother became increasingly defensive. The conflict finally came to a head on his 12th birthday, as Harland watched, as his father murdered his mother before his eyes, as they fought over the way that she coddled him.
Harland's father was sent to a military prison to serve a life sentence for Murder one.
Harland and his three brothers were then sent to foster families to live. Harland was bounced from family to family because he was becoming very difficult to deal with. Having watched his father murder his mother, he became somewhat unhinged. He excelled at his schooling, and was accepted to West Point on a military scholarship.
He then went on to graduate with honors, leaving West Point with a 4.0 GPA and holding a rank of Private First Class.
He quickly went through the ranks of the military, going on to serve in Vietnam, receiving numerous commendations and awards for his bravery and courage under fire. But what the military did not know, was that slowly, he was becoming more and more unhinged during his tour.
Mills, on numerous occasions, would kill innocent people in order to get to the enemy. Feeling no remorse, he would start killing people without any inner monologue telling him that what he was doing was not right.
At the conclusion of the Vietnam war, Mills was promoted to the rank of Captain, serving as one of the most feared and respected commanders in the U.S. Army. He was widely known as one of the toughest men, and was known to demand more from those under him than any man in the entire U.S. military.
Slowly, Mills became more and more mad, and ultimately lost it, after visiting his father in Military prison. His father, having spent years in jail, had become a model prisoner, and respected by his fellow inmates, but when his son came to visit him, Mills just snapped and killed his father, tricking everyone into thinking that his father attacked him, so that it didn't look like Murder.
Mills had officially lost it, but covered it well, as to not appear like he was anything other than a tough-as-nails Army captain. Behind the scenes, he started to amass a large fortune by using mercenaries, and the like to stage crimes to cement his personal fortune and satiate his lust for power.
As the 1990's approached, Mills was a 5-star general, orchestrating the initial attacks during Operation: Desert Storm. But was finally discovered for who he truly was, when he laid waste to a small Iraqi village for no reason. There was no reason for the slaughter of the innocents. But once discovered, he was immediately locked up in military prison.
While he was being transported to the U.S. to answer for his crimes, the plane that carried him was hijacked in mid-air and blown up. The public believed that he was killed in the crash, but the truth was, that he had ben taken off the plane by "planted" mercenaries that he had on the plane.
Mills then went into hiding, running his top-secret organization "Terror Inc.", using the monies that he had made doing several criminal ventures to increase his hand of power in the criminal underworld.
A Staunch patriot. Mills was appalled when the "Winfield Amalgamation and Rejuvenation Initiate" was established. He felt that the idea behind Winfield City was a disgrace to America, and decided to make it a personal mission to stop this at all costs. So Mills took it upon himself to move his base of operations to Winfield City, to destroy it from within, and make as much of a profit as possible.
But that's just my opinion... What do I know???
